This weekend marks the first Rally Croatia on the World Rally Championship calendar with a revised event schedule for 2021.

While the usual suspects take the time control for the first time this morning from the Zagreb based event, a privateer also graces the entry list in modern day WRC machinery for this weekends event.

Frenchman Armando Pereira takes the start of Croatia Rally with co-driver Remi Tutelaire in a 2018 built M-Sport Fiesta World Rally Car. The particular car being used this weekend by Pereira is Fiesta Chassis #10 which has previously been driven to victory by 7 time champion Sebastien Ogier. While the car arguably has excellent pedigree having been piloted by the champ, in 2020 Pereira used the car in some national events in Portugal, albeit with a class win that was ultimately taken away from him as a result of the car being removed from parc ferme early! The reg of the car is PO67 KCY although that reg has not always been assigned to this chassis.

WRC cars are no stranger to Pereria as he has previously campaigned a previous gen Fiesta RS WRC (chassis #53 – ex Camilli) and DS3 WRC (chassis #12 -ex Loeb/Ogier)

This weekends rally in Zagreb has seen a steady start for Pereira and a 10 second penalty for a jump start on SS3, but its great to see the top level latest gen cars being used in world championship events after early speculation that this would not be allowed when the new rules came in to play in 2017.
